Family: Mother is Andromeda Tonks (formerly Black) who ran away from her pureblood family in order to marry a Muggleborn named Ted and was disowned by them as a result. Through the Black connection Tonks is Bellatrix and Narcissa's niece (they are Andromeda's sisters), Draco's first cousin and Sirius first cousin, once removed. She has had very little contact with her wizarding family, in fact she was seriously (though not permanently) injured by her Aunt Bella in the fight at the Ministry in June of 1996. During the academic year 96-97 this began to change. Tonks has reached an understanding with Draco since learning of Lucius' grey side and even saved Bella's unborn baby. The latter, of course, had an ulterior motive - Bella's child is now bound to Tonks, it's life is dependant on her. She herself now has two daughters, Kaia and Andromache were born on April 6th.
Orientation: Most easily described as bisexual (is complicated due to her metamorphmagus capabilities)
Relationships: Tonks has no shortage of former lovers, male and female, muggle and wizarding alike.  She lost her virginity at fourteen to close friend Charlie Weasley, who she continued to see off and on in a strictly casual way for a long while. She and Charlie were never an actual couple; both valuing their friendship too highly to risk it.  Also of note is Kingsley Shaklebolt, her trainer when she became an Auror, his position of responsibly over her and a shared lack of interest in commitment meant that despite the fact Tonks was in love with him their relationship was purely sexual, and usually connected to post-work adrenaline.

In fact, Tonks has had very few actual boy or girlfriends, usually choosing brief flings and one night stands.  Not long after she started teaching a visit from Charlie's brother Bill changed that; their one night stand turning into a relationship.  It's not likely to be plain sailing though... she doesn't know that he is a Death Eater; much less that her accidental pregnancy wasn't an accident on Bill's part.  It doesn't bode well that she's cheated on him either, their colleague Veronica Sinistra being a welcome distraction when Tonks first found out about the baby, Kingsley being in the right place at the right time after Tonks killed Marcus Flint and Alica Spinnet proving useful for a roll in the hay.

This is all made all the more complicated by Kinglsey's recent confession that he was in love with Tonks, and my her admission that she still felt the same. It would seem she has an important decision to make...

This subsides a little when she's focused but she's not very good at stealth, thankfully she is good at concealment, she is a metamorphmagus and can change her appearance at will. Calls her Dad a muggle, though he's really muggleborn, a family in-joke she refuses to explain.
